Nobel prize

Barack Obama Hussein
Obama's life
Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu Hawai USA in 1961 august 4.
Obama  is an American politician who is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office and the first president born outside the continental United States. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School between 1992 and 2004.
In 2004, Obama received national attention during his campaign to represent Illinois in the United States Senate with his victory in the March Democratic Party primary, his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July, and his election to the Senate in November. He began his presidential campaign in 2007 and, after a close primary campaign against Hillary Clinton in 2008, he won sufficient delegates in the Democratic Party primaries to receive the presidential nomination. He then defeated Republican nominee John McCain in the general election, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months after his inauguration, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. He won the Nobel Peace prize due to his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.

Hobbies and interests
Obama is a fan of the Harry Potter series. In April 09, he met JK Rowling at the end of the Downing Street G20 dinner that he had read all her books, and that he also read them to his daughters Sasha and Malia.
Barack Obama revealed that he prefers Jay-Z to Kanye West. In April 2012, Barack Obama told 'The Atlantic' that he thinks though Kanye West is a very talented singer, but he still think West is a jackass for interrupting Taylor Swift speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Obama's interestins sports

Barack Obama is a huge basketball fan. He occasionally plays Basketball even during his busy schedule as the US President to keep up his fitness. Obama even played for his high school's basketball team. His number was 23.

Religious view
Obama is a Protestant Christian whose religious views developed in his adult life. He wrote in The Audacity of Hope that he "was not raised in a religious household". He described his mother, raised by non-religious parents, as being detached from religion, yet "in many ways the most spiritually awakened person that I have ever known." He described his father as a "confirmed atheist" by the time his parents met, and his stepfather as "a man who saw religion as not particularly useful." Obama explained how, through working with black churches as a community organizer while in his twenties, he came to understand "the power of the African-American religious tradition to spur social change.

Cultural and pollitical image
Obama's family history, upbringing, and Ivy League education differ markedly from those of African-American politicians who launched their careers in the 1960s through participation in the civil rights movement. Expressing puzzlement over questions about whether he is "black enough", Obama told an August 2007 meeting of the National Association of Black Journalists that "we're still locked in this notion that if you appeal to white folks then there must be something wrong." Obama acknowledged his youthful image in an October 2007 campaign speech, saying: "I wouldn't be here if, time and again, the torch had not been passed to a new generation."

Reflections on Social Networks

A SOCIAL SITE is a site of internet where you can find a lot of things about nowadays.

In the SOCIAL NETWORKS we can find a lot of advantages like enteretaintment facilities, news, contact with old friends or making new, sharing images of special moments...All of them have risks we all could know. But do we know really who is behind of a profile of a "friend"?. Social sites can be used to expose our private lives, they can be used by criminals to release information about their victims in crimes, they can be addictive and devour lot of our time...

To prevent these things and to be safer we have to do these things:
-Only accept people you know, and make private your account.
-Don’t trust people you don’t know.
-When someone starts chatting you and if you don't know who he/she is ask the nearest people you know (parents, teachers, friends, family...).
-If someone is bothering you go directly to the authorities.

So the SOCIAL NETWORKS can be good and bad for our private life and health.

Apart from that in these last years they are used a lot for Cyberbullying the kids.
Cyberbullying is when a young girl or boy is threatened in the Social Networks. There are a lot of cases of cyberbulling in the Social Networks. A lot of kids get traumatized because of this people who hide behind the computer and spend a lot of time of their lives making other kids lives impossible.

CULTURE

Culture can be defined in numerous ways.

Culture is defined as a social domain that emphasizes the practices, discourses, and material expressions, which, over time, express the continuities and discontinuities of social meaning of a life held in common.

The word Culture is used in a general sense as the evolved ability to categorize and represent experiences with symbols and to act imaginatively and creatively. This ability arose with the evolution of behavioral modernity in humans around 50,000 years ago.

In the humanities, one sense of culture, as an attribute of the individual, has been the degree to which they have cultivated a particular level of sophistication, in the arts, sciences, education, or manners.

When used as a count noun, "a culture" is the set of customs, traditions, and values of a society or community, such as an ethnic group or nation.

There are a lot of cultures.

For example India. Indian cultural history spans more than 4,500 years. During the Vedic period (c. 1700 – 500 BCE), the foundations of Hindu philosophy, mythology, theology and literature were laid, and many beliefs and practices which still exist today, such as dhárma, kárma, yóga, and mokṣa.

In Germany the country is particularly known for its traditional Oktoberfest celebrations in Munich, its carnival culture and globally influential Christmas customs known as Weihnachten. 3 October has been the national day of Germany since 1990, celebrated as the German Unity Day (Tag der Deutschen Einheit). The UNESCO inscribed 38 properties in Germany on the World Heritage List.

And more different cultures are around the world some of wich we know and others which we don't know.

Please if you see something to add or you like to post something else leave a coment.
